About the Department of Banking and Insurance
The vision of the Department of Banking and Insurance is to develop skilled human resources with specialized education and training particularly in Banking and Financial services. Since its inception in 2004, the Department is committed to catering the needs of modern business world and producing executives and trained manpower with strong skills in business, particularly in banking and insurance. The Department offers four-year BBA program, one-year MBA program and other post-graduate programs (including M.Phil. and Ph.D.) in Banking and Insurance. It has introduced MBA (Evening) program for the executives and officials. Right from the outset, the Department of Banking and Insurance constantly focuses on academic excellence and uncompromising standard for which it has earned reputation.

The Department of Banking was established on 21 August 2004 under FBS and later in 2011, it was renamed as Department of Banking and Insurance. The vision of the Department is to be a recognized leader in developing talent in banking, insurance and other financial services, and to generate ideas to create opportunity by ensuring sustainable growth for them in Bangladesh and around the globe.
